Hi all,

Thanks a lot for your posts!

Whistling for me is an effortless activity and I don’t need to think about what’s going on in my oral cavity nor lips in order to change pitch.
Nevertheless I have decided to spend some time analysing what’s happening as I change pitch when I whistle. I have realised that actually very little change is…[Read more]

While it is pretty straight forward for me to understand the concert hall breath and the slingshot air release, I confess I still struggle a lot to understand how the shape has to change to change pitch.
While practicing the singing c exercises…[Read more]

Hi Ronald,

Thanks for engaging in the post.
I am actually in no rush at all, in fact for the past few days I have even abandoned my normal practice routine (I want to forget about all my old bad habits). I have realized that the benefit of being a comeback player is I have absolutely no obligations. Which means I have plenty of time to invest now…[Read more]

Hi thanks for your reply. I guess I will only implement the learnings on the warm up of my daily routine for now and gradually add more. As for the airpockets I am not worried, they are slightly above and below the lips and I think they showed up because I took the zero body engagement very seriously, to the point where the embouchure did not…[Read more]

Played the trumpet for 6 years (14 to 20 years old), and haven’t touched the horn for 8 years. 3 months ago started playing again on my own. I have been using stuff I learned back in the days, I. E. Pedal tones, Clarke, Collins, ascending arpeggios for range, etc. I have been having a very inconsistent playing, in the sense…[Read more]
