Hi Holger,

I have been doing two pedal tone exercises; the Claude Gordon exercises and Laurie Frink’s Flexus. I try not to manipulate the notes. Think about what Arturo Sandoval talked about when he said he doesn’t think pedal tones. He just thinks low notes.

Cheers,

Scott

Hi, I would be interested in knowing how many of you include pedal tones as part of your practice session. This is short and sweet, but I just thought I would throw this out there.

I have been doing the C# & D (no 2) Harmonic Slur exercises and keep catching the harmonic in-between the F# & C# and G & D. It sounds like a grace note a I slur up. I know it’s to do with setting and I try not to compensate by giving it a kick. Any suggestions about what I can do to overcome this?

Cheers.

Hi Greg,

I watched the video and agree with everything you said. The most difficult thing to do is to let go of preconceptions. I came across this book several years ago. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alexander-Technique-Approach-Trumpet-ebook/dp/B004JKMSNO

I will re-read it again with the WindWorks concepts in my mind. Thanks for all of the great…[Read more]
