Nice discussion. Greg: I enjoyed your rant. I keep cycling back here. It is a slow re-education of my mind. I have to do a little, really absorb that and then come back again.
Recently, I can sort of envision the aperture becoming smaller and that really helps.

I had the old MtoM books and had worked through most of the first one when WindWorks came out. I had noticed that that Drone tones had been added to the MtoM first book, but had no idea of how to use them I have been going through the Largo stage and have gotten to the Singing C/C# lesson. Here are my questions:
1. I assume that the drone is only…[Read more]

Thanks @wellsjtj. I think that is really good for tonguing along the way. How do you relate this to your initial tonguing, starting note?

Thanks Greg for the video (glad to see you are using Vimeo, excellent service). This information is in the MTM book in slightly different form, but this makes it a lot clearer. I hope you will leave it up here. I am going to have to watch it several times to copy all of this.

Thanks Rod. It is certainly worth a try. I don’t worry about the tongue ordinarily, but the book talks about this, so I brought it up. I will try some legato stuff. That is probably a great way to get a feel for what is bothering me about my tonguing.
