I think that obviously it is not more air but more pressure that permits to play higher.
But how do you make higher pressure? The response is that you have to change shape and tension of the lips (higher resistance) and to compress more or less the air by the expiratory muscles (the sound volume).
But for me it is by thinking…[Read more]

Hi DBK,
Yes you’re right. It is a right way changing shape for each note.
But I think that this shape is found by letting the lips respond to the pressure (not the volume obviously). I think that it is the sensation of each pressure for each note that is important to memorize. The lips will find the way to vibrate sympathetically in the tube…[Read more]

Thank you very much for this long reply.
But, if all parts of the embouchure are working with synergy, it is at last the opening of the lips that determine the flow of air.

Hey guys,
Thanks very much for your answers. But my question is about the best way to put the corners in, without pinching the center of the lips, when slurring:
1) raising only the lower jaw or
2) making a movement of the lips inward or
3) both of these.
Could you tell me how i can put my video on the forum?
For changing pitch (or speed of the air) you have two solutions:
