Greg Spence explains why the feeling of playing matters alongside exercises and method books. This short lesson introduces sensation as a way to recognise unnecessary effort and build a more efficient foundation.

Why focus on the feeling of trumpet playing?

Greg encourages players to notice what efficient playing feels like and to connect that sensation with their sound. The lesson explores how an emphasis on written exercises alone can distract from observing the physical process.
