moment you’re here and you want to get to he now that’s different for everyone what do you want to be do you want to be the lead player in the big band the principal trumpet player in the orchestra do you want to be at the front the virtuoso soloing and having the spotlights on you what do you want what do you desire to go from where you are now your 1.0 to your desire your U 2.0 it’s a journey now along this journey we can take

the straight path or we can get derailed we can get off track instinctively brass playing hard work and unfortunately thanks to a lot of the traditional methodology and teaching we make playing harder than we need to be so if we understand that playing can be a heck of a lot easier than what we’re led to believe then all of a sudden the journey becomes shorter and more direct because we don’t get derailed we do not make errors the secret to becoming a better player faster and

taking the shortcut is to not make the errors now the list of Errors is really long even professional players playing at the highest level can be making efficiency errors which affects consistency endurance and we don’t want to be relying on favorable conditions every day when we go to perform we want to know that we can consistently get the job done so when you understand how the instrument Works how the body works the body instrument system and we only use what we need we’ve got a mantra

here don’t use what you don’t need physically until you do need it everyone wants to overexert we’ve been told that you have to blow and you have to buzz and do all of these high energy actions you don’t need to the shortcut to better playing is not getting off track not making these errors not engaging musculature that’s not required when you repeat and repeat the feeling of the correct playing processes which is a whole different strategy to what’s out there we work on the feeling of

efficiency and then you slowly take each step of your journey we add the mouthpiece and we add the lead pipe and we add the instrument and we start to do a bunch of really cool exercises that’s taking the shortcut it’s doing the right things more often urgency and the Brain learns faster and you get results a lot faster doing the right things more often that is the secret to taking the shortcut click this next video right here and make sure you come and check out mrom
