      Hey Greg

A problem that’s been bothering me for a while now… When I play, I need to ‘fold’ my bottom lip a bit while it makes contact with the mouthpiece. This seems to be causing quite some tension in the whole system and I’m trying to eliminate it. In the study room I can do this already (simply by following the steps: hum, aa-oe,etc.), but during concerts I can not make myself relying on it from the start. Because of the requirements of the moment (notes MUST speak because people are listening), I can not find the right mindset and keep on folding my bottom lip (and that moment of hesitating really ruins the party).

This must be something psychological I’m sure, but how can I handle the fear factor? 🙂

I really would like to know your thoughts on this!

      Thanks already,
      Tom

Hey Tom, if you can do it in the Practice Room you can do it on the gig! What is your strike rate % in the Practice Room?

Choose your gigs is the best advice I can give. Try it out on a gig where it doesn’t matter if you spray or miss.

It sounds purely like a trust issue so over time, as your awareness and confidence grows, youll have no problem taking your new skills on to the stage.

      Cheers,
      Greg
