• Hello Greg,
In the chapters andante fundamentals, you talk about the difference in the tension of the aperture corners and the tongue level. I feel personally that my tongue and aperture corners moves sympathicaly when i work flexibilities, that they are not independent things. In fact my tongue moves but without my control.
    Is it normal?
    Best regards.

  • Hi Greg,
To access a stage it says to validate the previous before. That is normal.
But Why when i click on Allegro Stage it says “This content is only available to members”.
So I AM A MEMBER of Windorks! (well i hope 😩). What’s the problem?
    Best regards.

  • Hi Greg,
But it’s the same exercise than in the largo stage!
Don’t you think there is a problem?
    Kind regards.

  • Hi Greg,
What are the exercises to do to complete the chart in the end of adagio stage?
    Best regards.

  • Hi Greg and all brass players,
I have the feeling that when I sing the notes, that I read on a score, in my head, the embouchure automatically adapts to make the right sound. It’s weird because the lips seems to work like vocal chords!?
What do you know about that?
    Best regards.

    Hi wjtakacs,
Thanks very much for this video.
    I’am going to try that.
    All the best!

  • Hi Tom,
    I agree with you.
Greg’s teaching should be of public utility instead of frustrating so many students with false ideas!
    Best regards.

    Hi ole,
    Thanks for your reply.
I understand what you mean. So, like Greg says in a video, we have to « bluzz » in the mouthpiece and not to buzz. I think it’s a pretty good image to understand the concept and to use this technique, if necessary, at best.
    Kind regards!

    Hi Ole.J.Utnes,
So if I understand, we can have benefits to buzz mouthpiece if we already know how to play trumpet effortlessly? Unfortunately I have the feeling that teachers want to begin with buzzing and that it is detrimental for the beginners who is going to clamp is lips and having too much tension?
So I think that, maybe in certain…[Read more]

  • Hi Greg,
Sometimes I have to play with a mute when it’s late and not to annoy the others. Then, despite everything, can I still enjoy the exercises by playing with a mute?
    Best regards.

  • Hi Greg and everybody,
Maurice André said that he always played trumpet effortlessly.
He also said that he was playing trumpet and not mouthpiece when someone asked him what he thought about mouthpiece buzzing.
Now I understand why he didn’t force! He was blowing, not buzzing, not clamping!
Why so many teachers says that we must buzz mouthpiece to…[Read more]

  • Hi Greg,
I played yesterday as a soloist the Ave Maria by Caccini. I applied your advices. It was great. Everyone congratulated me for my sound. The driver was delighted. My wife who was there told me that my game had changed, and that it seemed easy. It was the case, no more tension. I blew freely!
Here I just wanted to testify to that.
    Thanks…[Read more]

    Hi Greg,
I have discovered yesterday how your “AAAAHOOOO technic” works! It’s a revelation!
It’s very pleasant for me now to play more effortlessly and to have more control on what i want to do with no tension blowing freely. For me it’s no longer a hazard; before I was sailing without a compass. Now I finally have a direction to work effec…[Read more]

    Hi Carson,
That’s a great reply. Very clear!
I’m going to stay with Greg. It was just a question to understand how falsetto works.
    Thanks a lot.
    All the best.

    Hi Greg,
First of all thanks very much for taking time to reply so quickly!
I hope i’am not boring you to much with my basics questions, but i am just an amateur (my job is family doctor) and my goal is not “to fight” with my trumpet. I just want to have fun and for me it’s rather a torture for 5 years that i take classes.I play know in 2…[Read more]

    Hi Greg,
My professor explains that to play high, above E in the staff, we must think like singing a falsetto voice. What do you think about that? what’s going on when we do that? Its change the shape of the mouth? It’s change the pression in oral cavity?…
    Kind regards.

  • Hi Greg,

Your new videos are very explicative (like before) but the quality is better and with a lot of humor.
Your theory is no the same as my teacher (he says “play on the air”. I don’t understand that. He says “makes more pression to go high” but he can’t says how? He says not to modifie the embouchure. The air is only the key! But for me…[Read more]

  • Hi Greg,

First of all thanks for this new site. It’s very well made. Bravo!

I have a question to ask you about setting embouchure because i think its as important as air managment. Indeed how to operate a whistle that is broken even if it blows well?

One can read, in the abundant literature for the trumpet, that several type of embouchures…[Read more]
