Ive found that anyone who plays with the idea that a lot of air creates these notes generally takes on the grimace and red face, bulging eye syndrome you speak of almost invariably. I had an AA and I definitely avoid that approach or anyone who talks about air speed and volume as being a cure all for range. Even if it works, it may cause another Aneurysm and I definitely don’t need that. Unless someone is a total pressure player I don’t think the pain really come from the face, that’s just where all the tension shows up.
