Hi, Greg, I’m noticing that most of my issues/tensions are a bit opposite from the “normal” issues. Instead of pinching I tend to over- pucker. My bottom lip tends to fall out of the mouthpiece when I’m at the extreme point of tension. Instead of a thin sound, I lose the tone to a rush of uncontrolled air. Since I’ve started WindWorks, I’ve been able to get a more relaxed air column. The BCH was simple enough for me to grasp. I studied voice in college with an excellent teacher. I’m still working on a good release, but getting the air in is much better. I’m using a milkshake straw as a leadpipe. I’m able to get a nice vibration with it. I tend to think of this as “oscillation by accident”.
The sensation I’m getting when I go to the horn is my chin pulling down and creating tension in the back of my neck. Corners “in” seems to exaggerate my already exaggerated pucker. When I think more “passively” about my embouchure, I feel like my lips actually relax “outward” from where I usually play. Does this make any sense at all? in advance!

Thanks, Greg, my vision is very poor, so my wife (terrific musician!) is acting as my “mirror”. She’s helped me with the mmmm-aahh-oohh. I’m able to do this now without exaggerating the movement of the lips. I think I’ll go back from the beginning with a revised sensation.

Wow, that’s awesome that you have such a wonderful wife Mike, enjoy. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

      Cheers,
      Greg
