      Hi guys,

      Just curious who you all think is the ultimate effortless trumpet player.

      For me it’s Herb Alpert.
      Look at this concert:

      Think about it what you want, but man what a sound and control in his style!
      Curious what your input is.

      I saw Harry James live at Newport In New York early 1970s. Three one-hour sets. He played, seemingly effortlessly, from low G to G-above-C. All the notes seemed the same to him and he buried the band with his sound.
