Yep.
I’m a comeback player who came back because my head almost blew off the first time.
I wish I’d had Greg back when I started.

Ah! I’m so pleased you won’t kick me out Greg! M2M is the best thing that has happened to me since starting to play trumpet.
I guess to clarify my thoughts a little, I wonder whether there could be a quick summary video per stage – like a warm-up routine. Atm if I want to recap the basics and re-program, I kind of go back over each video in the…[Read more]

I have four the website pretty confusing too. I’ve been struggling with the levels and the explanations and at times I wish there was a clear practice routine and some of the stuff was more concisely explained in a format that just reminded me to focus on a couple of things at once. I feel like once I’ve accepted the longer explanation, it doesn’t…[Read more]

Thanks @Alistair. This is great, and what I need to hear. I need to accept where Iโm at, and keep practicing. Im not panicking because I canโt hit triple c like Wayne, but I do worry that I have trouble hitting the G on the second line of the staff consistently and accurately.
I guess one of the tough things about windworks is not having that dir…[Read more]

yes, thanks Johnelwood. That’s the video that makes me panic. I can get the pedal tone and next fundamental, but after that…
But I’ll keep trying!

Thanks @johnelwood. I can change the pitch, but not after a certain point. I just kinda hit this ceiling. I’m hoping that it’s just about time and practice – but of course I worry that I’m just not getting it. You can always keep digging, but if the treasure is on a different island… ๐
Anyway. Early days still. I am on holidays now, so will…[Read more]

So I can play the harmonic Greg talks about here:
And I can get sympathetic resonance. BUT I can’t play the next harmonic up.
So many people on the net say it should be easy, and that it’s a warm-up.
I’m still playing in the Largo range, and trying to build slowly, but the lead pipe does make me second…[Read more]

How funny. I lined up four mpcs today, cause I’m still confused about which might be best for me right now. A Monette B2 (88!), a Yamaha 16c4gp, a galileo M6C and a standard bach 1.5C.
The Bach was the surprise. Tone, range and ease of playing was the best on that…

Thanks johnelwood – I can’t bring my horn. I’ll do my best to work on my co-ordination. ๐

So next week I’m going to Japan for 12 days. I can’t take my horn. So I ordered a lead pipe from WINDWORKS – thanks Greg!!! And I’m taking that and a mouthpiece.
Any suggestions for how to keep improving and focusing and not lose my chops? I’m a complete beginner – well a beginner who tried really hard for a long time, couldn’t play, gave up and…[Read more]

Thanks @jbell756… I gotta admit, mouthpieces are doing my head in. Seems like we play the mouthpiece, not the trumpet, in so many ways. Every manufacturer i read says to work out the rim you are currently using and then translate it into their rim… But what if you’re not sure about the one (ones) you have? It’s funny that so many mouthpiece…[Read more]

Has anyone tried one? i’m curious, because they say the ideal embouchure for it is more of pucker. I wonder if this works with the WindWorks idea…
eckleberg replied to the topic Christian Lindberg on mouthpiece buzzing in the forum WindWorks 4 years, 11 months ago
Yeah. This is great.
I got taught to play the mouthpiece, and my sound was devastatingly bad. In the end I gave up playing altogether.
I practiced really hard on the mouthpiece. Thank goodness I’ve stopped. And I’m so relieved that I don’t have to play the mouthpiece anymore, and am sounding (and feeling) better. Much better.
eckleberg replied to the topic Exercise with silent brass mute in the forum WindWorks 4 years, 11 months ago
I’m interested in this too. I have a few practice mutes and can’t play at just any time of the day… I also have the Silent Brass system (mk1)… I feel like it’s a lot more work and I’m wondering what I can do to compensate. It feels like it throws my normal practice out for sure…

I know the book and have done the meditations. One thing that strikes me having done it for a long time is how important the actual technical methodology is to accompany it. It’s not enough to just sit and visualise. Which is weird because the subconscious is so much better at ordering things. But still it seems for me that a really clear…[Read more]

Hey Alistair –
Thanks so much for your thoughtful reply. It’s given me lots to think about. I guess the main takeaway is to find a horn that plays smoothly and technically well, and then to match it with mouthpiece and playing style.
It feels like there should be some scientific way to assess these things though – like greg is trying to do with…[Read more]

Ah. This.
I’m finding this again and again. I guess one of the drawbacks of learning on line is that some simple things become difficult – and at the moment I’m trying to buy a new mouthpiece and trumpet.
this week I went to a guy who was selling some mouthpieces second hand. He’s a great player. I’m not. I’ve been focusing on my 1% and thinking I…[Read more]
